Yield Maximizer Options Strategy
Yield Maximizer funds own their holdings outright and sell at-the-money call options, with strikes set at today's price, on part of the portfolio. At-the-money calls tend to pay the highest premiums. The managers adjust how much is covered as markets change, balancing monthly income against room to grow. Most of the funds holding U.S. or global assets are unhedged; the Canadian-dollar units of HBIL and HBND are hedged.
