Privacy Policy
Effective date: 29 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Covered Call Directory ("we", "us", or "the site") handles information when you visit coveredcalldirectory.com. We've tried to keep it plain and honest: the site collects very little, holds no accounts, and never asks for your personal or financial details.
Who We Are
Covered Call Directory is an independent informational website operated by Everpire Studios Inc., a Canadian company. You can reach us through the contact page.
Information We Collect
We do not require you to register, log in, or provide any personal information to use the directory. We do not knowingly collect names, email addresses, or payment information through the site itself.
Like most websites, we and our service providers may automatically receive standard technical information that your browser sends when you visit — such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and pages viewed. This is used for security, to understand aggregate usage, and to keep the site working.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. This site stores three things in your browser regardless of your choices, because it cannot work without them, and none of them leaves your device: your light/dark theme preference, your answer to the cookie banner, and a random identifier used only to match that answer to its own record. There is no name, email or account attached to any of them.
Everything else — analytics and advertising — is off until you say otherwise. No analytics or advertising cookie is set, and no request is made to Google, unless you choose to allow it in the banner.
In addition, third parties — including our advertising and analytics providers described below — may set their own cookies when you visit. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of personalized advertising as described in the next section. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site is supported by display advertising served through Google AdSense. The following disclosures apply:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Alternatively, you can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info (or youronlinechoices.eu in the EU).
For more on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google's Privacy & Terms.
Consent in the EEA, UK, and Similar Regions
If you are visiting from a region that requires it (such as the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom), we and our advertising partners will request your consent for the use of cookies and the processing of data for personalized advertising before such cookies are set, in line with applicable law. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the consent controls on the site.
Analytics
If you allow analytics, this site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which funds and pages people look at. IP addresses are anonymised, and Google Signals and advertising personalisation are switched off, so the data is not used to build an advertising profile of you.
What is recorded is deliberately about funds, not about you: which fund page you opened and roughly how long it stayed open, which funds you added to a comparison, and which comparison view you used.
Search text is not sent unless it matches a fund listed on this site. If you type something that does not match a fund, only the fact that a search happened and how many characters it contained is recorded — never the text itself.
Your Cookie Choices
The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you allow analytics and advertising. These are separate choices — you can allow one and refuse the other — and refusing is exactly as easy as accepting. Nothing loads until you answer.
Your answer is remembered for six months, after which you will be asked again. You can change it at any time using Analytics Choices in the footer of any page, which clears your answer and brings the banner back.
So that we can demonstrate that consent was properly obtained, each answer is recorded with the date, the choices made, the language the banner was shown in, the version of the wording you saw, and the country your request came from. No IP address, browser fingerprint or name is stored with it — only the random identifier described above, which your own browser also holds, so you can match your record if you ask.
Quebec, Europe and the UK
Consent is requested before any non-essential cookie is set, for every visitor, wherever they are. This is the standard required by Quebec's Law 25 and by the GDPR in the EU and UK, and applying it everywhere is simpler and fairer than deciding who deserves it based on where they appear to be.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate and secure the site, understand aggregate usage, serve and measure advertising, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Third-Party Links
The site links to external pages, including fund providers' official websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Data Retention
Consent records are kept for as long as we may need to demonstrate that consent was given, and no longer. Analytics data is retained according to Google's settings for this property. Cookies set by third parties are retained according to those parties' own policies. Automatically collected technical data is kept only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your Choices and Rights
You can manage cookies through your browser, opt out of personalized advertising using the links above, and, depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information that we hold about you. To make a request, contact us. We aim to handle requests in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for Quebec residents, the province's Law 25.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the effective date at the top. Your continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
